Retaining the market at the heart of Rathbone Market The retention and enhancement of the much-loved Market has always been one of the guiding principles of the Rathbone Market redevelopment proposals.
In Summer 2010, the Market was relocated to a temporary site immediately to the east of the Phase One development area. As well as repositioning the permanent market stalls, ECF provided the market with a number of temporary stalls and Newham Council launched a campaign to attract new traders to Rathbone Market.
The Market will continue to trade from this temporary location throughout the Phase One construction period, however, for Phase Two of the redevelopment, the market will need to move again as explained on the right.
